Kodak 5500 AiO

I purchased my Kodak 5500 AiO in January 2008 through a home shopping channel. Though it seemed to be quite noisy, I was satisfied with the document and photo printing outcomes. Things went down hill after replacing the ink for the first time around two months later. The color cartridge worked fine, but I was unable to print using black. I calibrated and cleaned with no response. Contacted Kodak support via e-mail and they sent me detailed steps on correcting the problem which didn't work for me. I've also been unable to fax. I now have another detailed step by step fix for that. The scanner makes a grinding noise and cuts off documents being scanned. I have yet another detailed email response from Kodak for fixing this. Bottom line, my Kodak 5500 AiO is now sitting on my den floor and a Lexmark AiO is now in its place. So far, so good though it has only been connected for a very short time as of this writing. My only consolation regarding the Kodak is that I paid less than 130.00 on the shopping station. If I had paid the 250.00 that the brick/mortor stores were selling this for at the time, I would be making more noise myself.
