I was very satisfied with this camera. For the money, it can not be challenged. Setting the camera up was easy, seeing that I had owned a Kodak digital camera before. I really didn't find it all that hard to use. The most difficult part of the process was uploading the software (and in all honesty, it really wasn't that big of a deal to do). Kodak really packed in the features as well on this camera. The 12x optical zoom alone is an amazing asset for a camera of this price, and the 7.1 meg quality really shows when you get your photos delevoped. There are other features, which my other camera did not have, that I really have no use for myself. I did get a kick out of the video option, which my old Kodak had but did not have the option of sound in which the z712 does have. Also, I did find the panoramic option to be a really cool feature that can come in really handy at family gatherings when there is very little space to "back up" and get everything in the photo at once. If there was anything negative at all about this camera, is the fact that even thought it did come with a rechargeable battery pack, it did not come with a charger for that battery pack. I did find out that there is one available and it can be purchaced seprate. But all in all this is a great camera for anyone.
