Author's Review
I've owned this camera for over 9 months and am very pleased with it. It's not bulky or heavy, but yet packs a big camera punch! I love taking photos of my kids, landscape, flowers, the moon, close ups, indoor, outside, and shallow depth of field.
When I first got this camera, I was overwhelmed and couldn't really get the best photos. But after taking the time to learn the camera and play with the settings, I am very pleased with what I have gotten. The zoom is incredible, the LCD screen is nice and bright, easy to read. The menu is straight forward and easy to follow. Lots of pre-set modes to help with a wide variety of situations, including panoramic which is fun.
This camera is great for the beginner to more advanced photographers. Manual settings allow for more freedom, but complete automatic for those who want to simply point and shoot.
I love the video mode as you can zoom in and out WHILE video taping.
I'm having great luck with battery usage. I have 2 KLIC-8000 rechargeable batteries. One lasts me at least 300-400 shots (using the LCD screen and zooming in and out). Having 2, if one runs out, I have a spare while the other is charging. I haven't had as good of luck with other batteries.
Over all, this is a great camera that would suit most people quite well. I use a 2 GB SD card and can store about 500 photos on it. I simply remove the SD card from the camera and stick it in my camera SD slot. I then download the photos to a folder on my computer. That's it.
I think a photo is worth a thousand words, so have a look at the photos I have taken with this camera. I have used a wide range of settings and utilized many of the options available with this camera. The photos are not edited or "photoshopped". I hope they help you get to know this camera better: http://www.flickr.com/photos/amy129/
