Good camera for outdoor pictures

I purchased the Kodak EasyShare C713 digital camera before summer vacation. I liked the sleek look and the compact size, small enough to fit easily in my purse. I wanted a good camera to take vacation pictures with, and I figured I couldn't go wrong with the Kodak name. I also took pictures of my daughter's Kindergarten graduation. Some of my pictures came out blurry and pixelated but some were ok. The pictures I took outside look pretty good, but the inside and low light pictures were not good at all even though I changed my settings according to the type of picture I was taking. For example, even when I set the camera to take sunset pictures, the pictures I took while the sun was setting were dark and blurry. The video feature came in handy, worked well, and was easy to use. The camera has a lot of different features and settings, which were easy to use by me, a camera novice. I will definitely upgrade to a better quality camera next year. To be honest, my camera phone took a few better pictures than my camera. If I had it to do over again, I would have spent a little more money and gotten a better quality camera.
