Author's Review
My constraints were to purchase a dishwasher with a stainless steel tub, a hard food disposal, and quiet operation. The stainless steel tub narrows the field fairly well. All that was left was Kitchenaid, a few GEs, Bosch and a couple of other European brands that I hadn't heard of. Bosch didn't have the hard food disposal, and GE had limited selection. In addition, in my opinion, Kitchenaid is better built than anyother dishwasher. I was sold on the "P" class, it included a sensor which monitors the particles in the water, and adjusts the cleaning time accordingly. It had some adjustments in the racks over the "I" class. I found the 'S' model for less than I was willing to pay for the 'P'. The 'S' is quieter, has additional rack adjustments, and a few extra utensil caddies. It operates extremely quietly. The controls are simple. The dishes come out dry and squeeky clean even without rinsing the food off first.
