KitchenAid KHM7T Ultra Power Plus Hand Mixer

A wonderful mixer! After burning out a mixer each year for three years my husband decided to buy me a quality one for me for Christmas of 2001. He purchased the Kitchen Aid Ultra Power Plus 7 (in my favorite color...green!). The beaters looked flimsy to me and I was so afraid they'd break, but they have held up to some great tests I've put them through (ie: tough dough). Very easy to clean. Much easier to store than a stand mixer. It's lightweight and easy to use. Having an on/off button in addition to the digital speed buttons makes it easier to prevent accidental turn ons by my kids while we are baking. I am very impressed by this quality product and it was worth every penny my husband paid. I am proud to say almost a year later, after at least weekly use, I haven't had any burning smell and it's still going strong. If you want a quality product in a hand mixer, go with Kitchen Aid. They've surely proven themselves again!
