Not good!
Date of Review: Jul 11, 2002
The Bottom Line: Do not waste any money on this blender. Don't be fooled by it's good looks. It is seriously flawed in design and it does not blend well.
I have sent two of these blenders back to Kitchen Aid and every time I get a replacement, it's just as crappy as the one I returned. The design of this blender is flawed due to extremely bad engineering. It does not blend ingredients well. I like to make smoothies and I use fresh fruit and fruit juice. This blender cannot even blend bananas in a smoothie. It always leaves hunks of fruit totally unblended even if you let it run for 10 minutes. That's a long time to just blend fresh fruit and juice and it still doesn't blend everything. This horrible blender can't even blend a scope of protein powder into a drink. It leaves unblended goo stuck on the inside of the jar. What an expensive piece of junk! I am very dissatisfied with this lousy blender.
The blades are rediculously dull and the base of the jar is so wide that food just lays there while the dull blades are just spinning away. When you go to pour out whatever you were trying to blend, big hunks of unblended food comes splashing into your glass. The rubber gear that turns the blades is very easily damaged and it starts to deteriorate quickly if the jar isn't seated on it exactly the way it should be. This is another example of the very poor engineering of this blender.
Kitchen Aid is aware of the problems with this blender because they have received thousands of complaints. Kitchen Aid will send you a new replacement blender if you call and complain but that's just a waste of time because you end up receiving another crappy blender that just doesn't blend.
