The holy grail of toasters!

I admit, I'm a little obsessed with finding the perfect toaster. But I didn't think it would be that hard to make a good toaster.. but the last few years the toaster (in the $50 range) all failed both in terms of dependability and control.
Then out of frustration I bought a $260 Duralit. I couldn't stand the sound of the timer that goes off the entire time the bread was being toasted. Then I found the Kitchen Aid. Looks beautiful (contemporary, simple, stainless steel.) Works even better. BEST FEATURE: you can check the toast for done-ness by raising the lever. You have no idea how amazing this feature is until you experience it. Think about it. In every other toaster, you have to turn off the toaster and wait for it to come up before inspection. Then if it needs more time.. you push it back down... but, now the toaster thinks it's a new slice and the timer is reset. Now, I can check the toast in progress... and if it needs it... lower it down for the last moments of toasting. It's nirvana. Other feature: Keeps toast warm after it's done toasting. (Let's you know the toast is done with a BEEP sound) Simple controls... no rediculous buttons that promise to DEFROST and do BAGELS. They don't work. And the electronics break. BUY THIS.
