I'm Glad I Called!

When I saw the KitchenAid toaster oven, I immediately liked it because its tubular handle exactly matched the other stainless steel appliances in my kitchen. At first I was a bit put off by the price ($169.99 at Target,) but I checked online and found it for $119.99 including shipping. Then I read the reviews, which were far from favorable. Crestfallen, I decided to give it one more try, and called the KitchenAid customer hotline. The representative was very responsive, and said that they had very few returns on the product, and that many people had ctually called to say how much they like it. I decided to try it: heck, I could return it if I hated it. And I am extremely glad I bought it!

I have always kept a regular toaster side-by-side with my toaster ovens. I think, since I've been using the KitchenAid, that the regular toaster can be moved to the basement, freeing up more valuable counter spece. My bagels are perfectly done, as others have mentioned, and it also does a great job on regular toast. Of course, it is wonderful at doing the jobs other toaster ovens can do. Yes, it needs a couple of minutes to warm up, and I need to watch it for doneness, but I think this is a small price to pay for extra, attractive counter space. I'm very glad I bought it, and would buy it again in a heartbeat!
