A bouncer is a must-have during the first few months of your baby's life. It will give you a few minutes to go to the bathroom and tends to be the perfect place to lay a sleeping baby without waking them up.
The Cradle In Comfort bouncer looks comfortable with side cushions and a head pillow. It really does cradle your baby and it should for quite some time as my thirteen pound, very long two-month-old still fits nicely. The seat comes completely unassembled and is mostly just a metal frame with washable covers attached. The frame was hard to put together so read the directions first! While the seat is nice and big and cushy, the frame doesn't collapse for storage or transport so it may not be a good option if you plan on taking your bouncer with you places.
Like many bouncers, this one comes with a vibration feature. It only has one setting, but it seems to do the trick. The vibrations put and kept my little one to sleep for over a month until she suddenly disliked all vibrating baby equipment.
There are also two sound settings, music and white noise. The music is a collection of classic baby songs, most of which I don't know the names of but have heard on other toys. They are pretty and don't sound too jarring or fake. The white noises are a bubbling brook, water running, and womb sounds. My daughter liked the womb sounds best at first and is now partial to the music. All of the sounds turn off on their own after a few minutes, which can be a blessing or a curse depending on how that day has been going.
All of the features are contained in a box affixed to the bottom front of the seat. It takes three C batteries and requires a screwdriver to open. There are three buttons (volume, vibration on/off, and sounds on/off) and a switch that switched between the sound categories. The buttons are easily pressed which means that you'll often brush against it and turn on the vibration or suddenly blast some womb sounds at yourself. Luckily, the battery life doesn't seem to suffer from this because I have yet to need new batteries in two months.
For the older baby, there is a detachable arch with a dragonfly and flower shaped mirror hanging down for baby to look at. My baby doesn't seem to care about them, but I think they look cute. The toys are in muted colors that match the pink seat and hang down just low enough that your little one can reach them.
While I don't have another seat to compare this one to, I really like the Boppy Bouncer. It has given me some time hands-free and that's the true test of a good baby product.
