Amazing Quality, Driver Protection, Comfort and Pep in this Affordable Ride From Kia.

by   hoopee ,  Apr 20, 2007
Pros: Safety, Quality Designed, Unparalleled safety cage for drivers and passengers. Pep, Style, and Low Price
Cons: I think you'd need special adapters to put 18" and 20" rims on them. LOL.
The Bottom Line: The Kia Spectra is a Great Sporty Car with Style, Pep and the greatest safety cage structure that is not built into most small cars these days.
Review: I bought my 2006 Kia Spectra used. I had previously owned a Kia Sportage the first year they came out in the united states in 1996. The engine blew up in less than 5000 miles, so it was a hard sell to get me to look at a Kia again. At that time, the ...

Without question, best car I have ever owned.

by   joi029 ,  Jan 10, 2007
Pros: Features galore! 6air bags, purrs at 80(only 3000 rpm). Loads of space, design, warranty
Cons: It's not a Lexus (but close). I really can't knock this car.
Review: I wanted a reliable, safe car with a lot of features. I first looked at the Honda Civic but was unimpressed with the limited features and cheap workmanship (the weld marks for instance and plastic look). I also did not like the fact that they are so ...

if i wanted a truck

by   ranferg ,  Jul 7, 2006
Pros: looks, suspension, width, warranty, quality, utility, only 1 trim level = everything!
Cons: none
Review: i would have bought a truck. the vibe, matrix, hhr etc are often described as "crossovers" ie..truck-like. I wanted a sport sedan and thats what i got with the spectra 5. The other vehicles are without exception a bit taller and definitely skinnier, ...

KIA Spectra5

by   timk333 ,  Jan 3, 2006
Pros: very comfortable ride w/ low road noise. Good gas mileage. 10 year 100,000 mile warranty.
Cons: It does not come standard with cruise control. Could be a little more powerful.
Review: I traded my For Ranger '01 for the Spectra 5 and I love it! It came with A/C, electric windows, CD/ AM/FM stereo ...

Kia Spectra5 A-OK

by   cheong-yei ,  Aug 17, 2006
Pros: Build quality, Warranty, Hyundai heritage, low price, lots of features.
Cons: No iPod jack in the stereo. No tinted side or rear glass.
Review: After learning that the Kia Spectra5 shares the same platform with the 2007 Hyundai Elantra, and knowing how good the prior Elantra was, I decided to check it out. The five-speed manual transmission is the best choice--snappy acceleration, smooth ...

Kia Spectra Sedan vs. Hyundai Elantra

by   STP11 ,  Jan 27, 2007
Pros: Quiet ride, new modern look, Easy to view instrument panel, comfortable seats
Cons: No cruise control, anti theft not standard, rear window too small making larger blind spots
The Bottom Line: I recommend this vehicle. Overall good dependable vehicle for lower price. Style is better than older Spectra models. Excellent warranty!
Review: In August 2006 I bought a 2006 Hyundai Elantra and my mother bought a 2006 Kia Spectra EX. Since both cars were made in Korea by virtually the same company, I thought this would be a great way to compare both vehicles. I drove the Kia for approximately ...

Nice Try But...

by   riverrafter247 ,  Nov 13, 2005
Pros: Interior room, price, cargo capacity, gas mileage
Cons: handling, lack of interior styling
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a cheap hauler and considering a Scion xB, look at this also
Review: Earlier this year, I was in the market for a small car. I live in NYC, where parking is usually difficult, and gas prices high, so I thought that an economy car which had a fair amount of carrying space would be ideal. In that regard, I test-drove a ...

Spectra5

by   kaktrot ,  Dec 6, 2005
Pros: Suspension, headroom, wheels, looks (sorta), handling, surprisingly well-made.
Cons: Not much power above 50-60 mph, notchy shifter, seat made for short person.
The Bottom Line: Cheap, cool, very functional, fairly sporty, and has no glaring faults. A good buy.
Review: What I was buyin' I was looking for a sporty car that I could still lug my kid around in. Something that the snooty yuppies like myself would approve of. I had been looking for a year-old Mazda3 or Mazda6 with a manual tranny for over a week. ...

Kia Value and Quality Ever Present in this Capable Compact Car

by   wormtownhero ,  Apr 18, 2006
Pros: Warranty. Value. Standard Features. Sporty.
Cons: A little pricey. Only one 138 hp engine available. Not much aftermarket parts.
The Bottom Line: Great car for the money. There is alot of competition in this segment and Kia does a respectable job with the Spectra SX package.
Review: I was looking for a front-or-four/all-wheel drive car for commuting 68 miles per day, 5 days per week. I needed to have a back seat with some room and a trunk that would fit my golf clubs. I wanted something a little sporty so it was some fun to drive. I ...

A good economy car at a good price.

by   jamescyberjoe ,  Nov 7, 2006
Pros: Excellent value! Many features, nicely made.
Cons: Uninspired performance, fuel economy could be better.
The Bottom Line: This is a good budget car, if your low on funds but want new, this is a good practical choice.
Review: When our POS Dodge Caravan died, we needed a car and quick. We could not afford nor wanted another van and gas is expensive now so we started to look at small cars, 4 door compacts, specifically. We also did not want a used car, neither. In the new car ...
