Awesome machine!
Date of Review: Dec 15, 2007
The Bottom Line: I'm sold on this brewer and on the extra bold Kcups from Green Mountain. The ones I tried from other vendors were pretty stale.
For years I held onto my grinder and French Press, too much of a coffee snob to try one of the new gimmicks. But I was given a B60 as a gift. It came with several varieties of Kcups from different companies. Figured it couldn't be beat for convenience, so I tried them. A couple from Green Mountain Coffee were pretty good, so I checked out CoffeeReview.com and found their highest rated Keurig products. Ordered some extra bold Kenyan AA from Green Mountain based on the recommendations and OMFG that coffee ROCKS! Keurig ought to give me a commission because so many of my friends have bought one of these after trying it at my house!
The brewer comes with three settings for half a cup, three-quarters, and full cup. The less water used, the stronger the coffee. I like mine strong, so use the middle setting with an extra bold Kcup. Makes great iced coffee too. Use an extra bold Kcup on the most concentrated setting, pour it over an ice-filled mug, add cream and sugar (I prefer maple syrup), shake and serve. Delicious!!! Kcups also come in teas and cocoa (I think Green Mountain is the only cocoa producer, not sure). I don't care for it, but the kids love the stuff. After brewing a cup of cocoa I cycle the machine again to purge it so the needle doesn't clog.
The water reservoir is removable for easy cleaning. The unit is compact, stable on the counter, and looks pretty sharp. I'm a convert!
