Not bad for the price

Date of Review: Sep 4, 2002

The Bottom Line:  Don't buy for a high end system, you wont regret looking elsewhere.
Well here's the thing. These speakers are a good replacement for factory speakers, but not for a high end system. I had these in my car for about 5 months, and I felt I needed an upgrade. When songs start out quiet, the speakers make a lot of hissing, or "SHHHHH" sound. And at very high volumes (the way I like my music) they start to crackle and distort. Just 2 days ago, I purchased some Infinity Kappa 5x7's, and wow...those are insane. I have them amped running at the 100RMS, and they are insanely loud. The Kenwoods retail for about 70$, and the Kappa's retail for about 170$. You could buy the Kappa's on eBay for 80$. And they come with crossovers, and the sound quality is unmatched. I threw out these kenwoods because I was so impressed with my new speakers.

My point is, is that they are OK. But just OK. If you have the extra money, go get some Infinity's, they are killer
