Author's Review

We moved to MN from CA a few years back and never bothered to get any A/C for our 90+ year-old house. It has radiant heat, so Central A/C was not viable. I put ceiling fans in all the bedrooms and we used window fans during the summer.

Last summer it became unbearably hot here. One weekend heat wave, we went to Duluth, where it was still hot, but had A/C in the hotel. When it was supposed to be over 100 a couple weekends later, I decided to get a couple units for our bedroom and young son's room. It was becoming difficult to sleep in the heat and humidity.

I went to Sears on a Friday afternoon and got the last two of these 75051 units! I took them home, and started installing each into the respective bedroom. Installation in the warm afternoon was uncomfortable, and each one took about 45 minutes. I got them both running and within 30 minutes the rooms had gone from 90+ down to 76! Nice! The next morning, we noticed water dripping down. The units were not level or pitched towards the outside. I had to remove them, then use a 2x1 strip of wood along the base of the window so they would tilt right. No problems the rest of the summer! I'll be buying a 3rd unit for our 3rd bedroom and a larger unit for the first floor and our house will have A/C this summer!
