Takes Out the Water You Spill

This machine takes the humidity out of the air pretty well. It gets extremely warm while doing it. I realize that dehumidifiers work on the same principle as refrigerators, by removing heat from the air, however this unit creates enough heat for a small space heater.

It is also noisy. The motor rattles, the rear grille rattles and the water bucket really rattles. The last may be due to its poor design.

The water bucket has a handle which slides down inside. However it recommends that you support it from the bottom if full. Huh? The bucket has two sides and there are some kind of baffles or something in the bottom. The machine is designed to not run without the basket so maybe these are partially designed toward that feature but it sure is hard to clean the thing out.

It is also difficult to empty the basket. The plastic is flimsy, the dual compartments make it more difficult to balance and the handle is pretty much useless. In addition it often sticks or jams when you are trying to pull it out. Any or all of these features make it very easy to spill the water you have just had removed from the air. Now it is on the floor - or better yet in the carpet. You can hook it up to a hose if you have a place to drain it - such as a sump pump. That would be a good option since the 35 pint bucket is only adequate for a day or two.

The control panel is easy. It has a high low switch and a dial that goes from off to max. There is no off switch as such. You just set the dial to the dryness you want and the speed.

Overall this unit is difficult and generally annoying to use. The bucket spills, the unit rattles and the switches ought to be labeled noisy and noisier.
