The price cited at the top level description
of this radio is too high. A quick Google search
shows it for $40 at several places, and $37 at
at least one.

I bought one based on the radios4you.com website
description as being a good AM (MW) receiver, in
addition to the FM and shortwave capability, and
the digital display which would be good for a
user with limited vision (better than an analog
dial).

Unfortunately, I was VERY disappointed. The AM
BCB (MW) reception is terrible. Strong local stations
spread across the entire broadcast band for many kHz
away from their actual frequencies. FM reception is
OK. SW is usable; I didn't expect much so if it gets
any strong SW stations on the correct frequencies I
was satisfied.

Battery life is wretched. I can charge it with the
wall wart or the crank OK, but when I next try to use
it a day or so later, even when it hasn't been used, the
batteries are dead.
