Braun Coffee Grinder, Watch out Beans!!

When our Coffee Grinder died we needed an immediate replacement because the morning fix could not be missed. I sent my husband to the grocery store and he found the Braun coffee grinder.

This coffee grinder comes in white or black. He was smart enough to know that all the appliances are black so he color matched. (I wish he would do that with his clothing)
He brought it home and it was as simple as removing it from the box and plugging it in. Some of the features of the Braun coffee grinder are as follows:

Ribbed Lid Design: The grinder lid is has two plastic lips that force the beans into the grinder. The result is evenly ground coffee beans. We like our coffee grounded very fine for a strong aromatic flavor. This grinder does that without difficulty.

Precision Blade System: The grinder has stainless steel blades coupled with a 150 Watt motor. This allows a quick grind that doesn't come out chunky.

On and Off Switch: The grinder has an on and off switch that is located on the lid. This switch prevents you from cutting your fingers. The grinder will not work unless the lid is secure. Besides keeping you from injury the secure lid prevents a coffee grind blow out that will definitely mess up your nice clean kitchen.

Cord Storage: At the base of the grinder there is a hollow niche that circles around the coffee grinder. This allows you to store the cord in a convenient way. The cord end has no place to go and sometimes it comes loose when you wrap it for storage.


The grinder is very quick to use and we have found we can grind different types of beans with ease.

Things you need to know before you buy:

1. The grinder is loud. If you are trying to be quiet in the morning and use it while others are sleeping you might wake them up. The little motor puts out some serious horse power.

2. The coffee grind mess. No matter how hard you try you will get grinds on the counter. I usually put down a paper towel and throw it away when I am done.

3. Cleaning the grinder. Braun suggests wiping the unit with a damp towel. With my other grinder I ran water into the grinder to clean it. I believe that is one reason it had an early death. I don't recommend using water. Stick with what Braun says. The plastic lid can be cleaned with warm soapy water. Braun advises you to thoroughly dry the unit after you clean it. They also recommend cleaning it after each use to prevent stale coffee grinds left inside. (Always unplug the unit before you clean it.)


**note** I have looked at the Braun website and on my box and instruction manual. I believe that there was an error when Epinions entered the information about the size of the grinder. My model number and this model number are exactly the same.
