The best DDR game out there!
Date of Review: Dec 12, 2007
The Bottom Line: Fun game and worth every penny.
My wife is an avid DDR player. We have the metal mat at home and she uses the game to get her daily workouts. The selection of songs is very robust and the other features such as game mode, workout mode, calorie tracker and practice mode make this a well rounded game. I have bought her the other DDR games, but the songs are just not as good to dance to as the ones on this version. We had other couples over for a church meeting the other week and we played for hours just laughing and playing and competing. It's a fun way to get people to come out of their shells and interact socially. However, for a sweater such as myself it's not such a great thing. I can go up the stairs too fast and start to break a sweat and then I don't stop for hours. On the other hand, my wife is a light 100 pounds and can play for hours at a time with a group and not break a sweat. Of course, if it's just her playing alone then she'll keep going and play consecutive games and start sweating in 15 minutes. Anyway, don't know how I got onto that sweat tangent. The game itself has a lot of catchy tunes to dance to and the different skill levels keeps you challenged. Although some of the Expert level songs are impossible to do!! This is really good practice for the real arcade game. With the metal dance mat you get an arcade feel and a true sense of how the game is played in the arcade. You can save your progress and just keep playing forever. Great fun for all skill levels.
