The Bare Minimum For a Center Channel

On a whim I bought this center channel from Amazon for $29.00 plus $10.00 shipping which ,looking back, I think was way to much to ship a 4lb. speaker. I replaced a Yamaha center channel that was part of an inexpensive Home Theater Package I bought five years ago. After listening to this KLH 943PL and making every adjustment I could with my Yamaha receiver I've concluded that I would rather listen to my old center channel than endure the sound from this piece of plastic. I am not an audio expert, obviously, or I would have passed this up, but like many, I was looking to cheaply upgrade my center speaker and this product is just not worth the money, no matter how cheap. The specs don't sound bad but with small drivers and a plastic case the sound is shallow, tinny, cheap, etc.
If you are looking to replace a center speaker I would shop around, there are better choices for not much more. I ended up with the Sony SS-CR350 package for $100.00 and the difference is amazing.There is also a Pioneer three piece set that sounded much better for $69.99.
