The only drinkable Cuervo!!!!!!

I first tried the Reserva de la Familia after the big tequila boom in Mexico, I consider myself a connoisseur after living in Guadalajara for 2 years and in the Distrito Federal for 11 years.
The Tequila evolution is a great demonstration of what Marketing can do... In 1985 when I first arrived to Mexico, even Mexicans just had Tequila to get drunk, the image of Pedro Infante drinking White Tequila shots was still alive.
I was part of the Tequila boom... a total conversion Herradura SS, Cuervo Reserva de la Familia etc... are just part of it
As i write for Rums, Tequila is a spirit you can drink all day long, starting at noon with the world famous "Fresca" made of white or reposado tequila with grapefruit soda and a bit of salt and then switching to Tequila con Cria (an upscale tequila reposado or anejo) and a very cold beer, and at the end of a great meal having a Herr SS or the Reserva de la Familia.
These Tequilas are digestives, you shouldn't try it before a meal (NEVER, I MEAN NEVER MIX IT, NOT EVEN WITH A SIP OF BEER), Reserva de la familia is a very dark tequila, with vanilla scents, oak, not much of agave aromas left, very heavy tequila (don't drink more than 3 caballitos)
Presentation is very attractive, comes in a wood box with original style painting (reminds me what a Champagne house made, I don't remember which one, with special designs by French artists).
Once you take the bottle out of the box, the bottle is quiet impressive, with the serial number, cask number and bottle number handwritten on the label, the label itself is almost a collection article, the cork and the shape of the whole bottle makes it a must to have in a personal bar at home.
Price is a bit expensive (75$) but you will only take it out of the box or give as a present for Serious Tequila drinkers
Would make the perfect present to somebody that really appreciates Tequila
