RAMBO - a bloodsoaked blast from the eighties!

by   desslok ,  Aug 3, 2008
Pros: A nice tight action movie that doesnt let up.
Cons: The gallons of blood used here may put off some sissies.
The Bottom Line: Groundbreaking? No - but Rambo is a whole lot of fun. Add in some well thought out extras and you've got a winner on your hands!
Review: We've all heard it before - returning to the well several decades after you've capped off a movie series is often a recipe for disaster. People say that the new Star Wars films destroyed the trilogy for them, They couldn’t stand Indy chasing down ...

War Dog's New Tricks?

by   lansky2000 ,  Jul 30, 2008
Pros: Stallone brings it to the next level with state-of-the-art must-see battleground F/X...
Cons: May be too violent for some audiences...
The Bottom Line: Stallone wears two hats and exceeds expectations as director and actor in a solid effort...
Review: After having exceeded expectations in becoming as a steroid company poster boy for Rocky Balboa, we were expecting Stallone to capitalize on his miracle gains in this film but were mildly surprised. Instead, we were treated to a stockier Sly, more ...

Stallone still have the energy to put out a good action film.

by   itdawn69 ,  Jul 2, 2008
Pros: realistic, action, good plot, character,
Cons: lots of blood, bad language, very graphic.
The Bottom Line: I found this movie to have a good story line and Stallone did a wonderful job bringing Rambo back to life. It is very bloody though.
Review: Rambo is an action thriller that was released in January of 2008. This 91 minute movie was rated R because of very graphic bloody violence, sexual assaults as well as grisly images. The language in this movie is also very bad as well. The story for ...

Another Great Classic Character Brought Back And Out To A Whole New Level

by   wrathchild ,  Aug 24, 2008
Pros: totally amazing and lively graphics, sound effects, special effects, action, and scenery
Cons: not for the weak-hearted or overly sensitive
The Bottom Line: I can not say enough times that this is the best "Rambo" ever! Everything about it is just totally amazing and intense! Sylvester Stallone still has it!
Review: This has got to be the best of the series! Most fourth parts do not come anywhere near it, but this is one of the very few, if not the only exception! This also came out over twenty years after the last "Rambo" film before this one to make it even more ...

Heroes Never Die.... They Just Reload!

by   sghawken ,  Feb 2, 2008
Pros: The best of the Rambo series
Cons: A bit dark at times
The Bottom Line: Rambo returns and he is better than ever
Review: After Afghanistan (Rambo III) John Rambo has turned his back on the violence, for 20 years he has lived a relatively peaceful existence in isolation; for cash Rambo hunts down Cobra’s and sells them to locals for sport in a small Thai village. Nothing ...

Finally, an action movie with balls.

by   michael45 ,  Jun 3, 2008
Pros: Finally a nice, bloody action movie that doesn't beat around the bush.
Cons: Of course, white middle America won't appreciate this film's message.
The Bottom Line: Genocide isn't pretty, especially when it's really happening. Rambo brings this to the limelight with an unflinching look at the brutality of war.
Review: I've been really irritated with the state of movies in the last few years. Nobody wants to take chances and the movie studios can't seem to stop making movie sequels instead of making something original that doesn't suck. Even worse, is that they've ...

Rambo's Last Ride?

by   Gambit624 ,  Jun 28, 2008
Pros: Great action movie, Stallone, very realistic, good story line
Cons: very graphic, not for those of weak stomachs, or the very young.
The Bottom Line: This movie is one of the best action flicks in a long time. Just don't let the kids see it.
Review: When I first heard that they were going to make another installment of this movie series, I honestly had my doubts as to the ability of Sylvester Stallone being able to pull it off. Even when I saw the first trailer on the internet back in September, ...

A 60+ Stallone can still be a bad mother you-know-what!

by   matthewn ,  May 31, 2008
Pros: Stallone can still be very realistic and believable as an action hero
Cons: The violence is much bloodier compared to the other Rambo movies
The Bottom Line: I was pleasantly suprised by this new Rambo sequel.
Review: After seeing the most recent Rocky movie and not being impressed...and upon hearing my younger brother's opinion that the newest Indiana Jones movie in theaters was not worth the time, I thought, "Oh, boy. The 80s action heroes from my childhood ...

"Live for nothing, or die for something."

by   roaddogxviii ,  Feb 8, 2008
Pros: Stallone; great action
Cons: Julie Benz; may be too violent for some
The Bottom Line: Stallone doesn't skimp around in his latest go-around as the Vietnam hero.
Review: Trying to dodge painful memories of his past, Vietnam vet John J. Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) is making a life in Thailand where he spends his time salvaging old PT boats and tanks for scrap metal. But his R&R has been interrupted as Christain ...

Rambo Reloads for the Last Time?

by   bonsi6337 ,  Apr 29, 2008
Pros: Good storyline, fantastic special effects
Cons: Not for those with a weak constitution, loads of blood
The Bottom Line: A good movie, if you like Rambo, but a weak ending
Review: The Rambo series of movies is not one that I would have openly made an effort to watch, as I am not an outward fan of mindless violence. Give me zombies and vampires any day! I think a lot of my aversion to "war" films is the fact that I am married to a ...
