The Bottom Line: If you want a great workout DVD, buy it today!!
Background
I knew that I needed to get off my butt and do something. I was gaining weight and exhausted all the time. As a mom of 3, this doesn't work well. I decide to get 30 Day Shred mainly because Jillian Michael's was the trainer. I have watched her on the Biggest Loser. I think she has a great training combination of firmness and encouragement. Personally, that is what I need.

This DVD has three 20 minute workouts. Level 1 is for the beginner (a.k.a. the couch potato). And yes, I fit into that category well. Although Level 1 is hard for someone like me who has not exercised in a while, I was able to make it through the entire workout. Just when I wanted to give up and fall on the floor, I would hear Jillian's voice bellow, "Don't you even think about quitting! You are strong, you can do this." And I believed her and didn't give up. It also helps that the workout is only 20 minutes and that it changes back and forth between strength, cardio, and abs.
Now I am not going to sugar coat this, I wanted to die at first but her encouragement kept me going. This is a first for me. I haven't completed an entire workout in the last 10 years.
The Workouts
Each workout consists of the following:

One 2 minute Warm-Up

Three 6 minute Circuits that feature Jillian's 3-2-1 Interval System
1. 3 Minutes of Strength
2. 2 Minutes of Cardio
3. 1 Minute of Abs

One Minute Cool Down
The Equipment
You need hand weights (you choose the weight) and a mat. With the weights, I would suggest starting with 3 or 5 pound weights if you are out of shape. It doesn't sound like much but it feels really heavy after a few repetitions.
The Results
I have only been doing this workout for a couple of weeks. I can already tell that I am getting stronger. I feel better and I have lost a few pounds. It is a workout that I actually enjoy. It's short, tough and has really good results. I am going to continue. My hope is that by July, I will be "the hot mom of 3" at the beach.
