JET as wallpaper
Date of Review: Dec 29, 2000
My first exposure to JET came in college. The magazine's centerfold features a different beauty tastefully photographed in a bathing suit every week. A guy who lived across the hall from me had taken the centerfolds of numerous issues and wallpapered his wall.
Since those days, my admiration for the Magazine has grown deeper(not much) than the centerfold beauties. JET I agree is a good resource for African American social scene on local as well as a national level. The magazine once ran issue announcing the wedding of a cousin.
However, JET would not be a magazine I would purchase despite its long history. The photographs are great but I find the articles lacking substance. I guess I just don't care to much about the who's marrying who. I do not want to cast a negative light on the magazine just send out a warning to those who have not read the magazine. JET is small and ideal for those times when you want to have something to read that is not to bulky.
I will still pickup JET from time to time If for nothing more than to look at the photos and the centerfold beauties are still just as great as they were the first time I saw them decorating that dormitory wall.
