Author's Review
I sit there, and I laugh at those people typing negative Epinions about the Wrangler, better known as the TJ... I look at those people, and I say "then why did you get it?"
It's like me saying, "my Honda civic is great, but it doesn't do a good job towing my boat!!!' Or, "my dump-truck isn't too bad, but it hard to park and gets really bad gas milage." PEOPLE, you bought a very impractical vehicle that's made for having fun. I do not recommend it for those who have kids and need a carseat. Neither for those who want to commute on the interstate every day.
I don't even know why they made the 2.5 ltr 4 cyl. That shouldn't have even been an option. Neither should they have made the automatic. That's a waste of metal used to make the parts... So, don't complain that the Jeep doesn't go over 75 MPH. The engine struggles to drive the 4000 lb car as it is.. And since the engine works soooo hard, you're gonna get bad gas milage.
This is one of the easiest vehicles to drive. It can turn on a dime. You can park it anywhere. It has ample power, decent gas milage, and a VERY reliable inline 6 cyl engine. That engine is practically bullet-proof. It just needs some decent preventative maintenance, and that's about it...
This JEEP is designed to GO ANYWHERE... And that, it does. And the best thing about it is that if you're going less then 60MPH, you can pull a lever and shift into four wheel drive. So, if you've got mud (or snow) up to the doors, you put it into 4WD, and start to have fun...
Also, this is one of the only vehicles that has it's own culture and lifestyle.. You don't see Ford Bronco or Chevy Blazer guys waving at eachother when they pass. But, I'll be you see the Jeep guys wave.. It's common courtesy, anything else is borderline disrespectfull.
So, it's great for what it's designed to do. It's horrible at basically everything else. Don't write bad reviews about it because it doesn't go 85 MPH and get 30 MPG doing so.. Don't knock the fact that it's noisy and windy, and impractical. It's not designed to be all that.. It's an awesome Jeep, and that's it.
I dare you to drive one and not have a smile on your face..
