Q: What's so great about a Jeep?

by   pclare ,  Jul 4, 2006
Pros: It's a Jeep.
Cons: The soft top redesign stinks, and the '97 overall is too carlike for a Jeep.
The Bottom Line: Please don't adopt a Jeep unless you're willing and able to give it the exercise, care, and lifestyle it needs to be happy. You'll be happier with a car anyway.
Review: Q: What's so great about a Jeep? A: Everything. Q: But it's just a car, what's the big deal? A: It's not a car. It's a Jeep. Q: But the ride is so rough -- it's like a nonstop amusement park ride. A: Exactly. Q: Oh, come on, nobody could ...

Jeep - It's a lifestyle. Not for everyone

by   area52resident ,  Sep 23, 2004
Pros: Rugged, great off-road capability, convertible, sense of freedom. Women dig it everywhere you go.
Cons: Their jealous boyfriends.
The Bottom Line: It's a lifestyle vehicle. Not for the picky consumer type who wants everything that's not native to the Jeep.
Review: The best thing about a Jeep is the soft top. Yes, many people complain about it. But it's really a blessing in disguise. Adapt your lifestyle to the Jeep instead of trying to transform the vehicle to suit your non-Jeep lifestyle. You will be glad. ...

Jeep Wrangler: Ya gotta love the wave

by   jcvsmom ,  Feb 19, 2001
Pros: fun, fun, fun
Cons: not a family car
The Bottom Line: I loved it and I miss it everyday. As soon as my kids are grown and out of the house, I'm getting another one.
Review: I had a 1997 Jeep Wrangler for approximately 2 years. I loved every minute of it until my daughter came along. I actually kept it for about 6 months after she was born. I had the carseat in back, on the passenger side and the stroller on the seat next...

Love my Jeep!

by   sewin2disney ,  Mar 11, 2008
Pros: Fun all around car, "Jeep Wave", Jeep community
Cons: constant fixes, poor gas milage
The Bottom Line: You have to be a Jeep person to want a Wrangler, but if you are, definitely go for it!
Review: I cannot say how much I love driving my Jeep. I have a 1997, 4 cylinder, manual transmission Wrangler, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Of course there's always the hassle of owning an 11-year-old car, but that's half the fun of it. Yes the top ...

Great fun for practically nothing.

by   donphantasmo ,  Sep 18, 2008
Pros:

Fun to drive, very manuverable, goes anywhere.

Cons: Not practical.
The Bottom Line: Great for what it's designed to do. Horrible for everything else
Review: I sit there, and I laugh at those people typing negative Epinions about the Wrangler, better known as the TJ... I look at those people, and I say "then why did you get it?" It's like me saying, "my Honda civic is great, but it doesn't do a good ...

Keeping it in the stable till the wheels come off.

by   shawnb1972 ,  Mar 5, 2003
Pros: Great off road prowess. Fun to drive.
Cons: Gas mileage. Loud. Rough Ride. I expected this however.
The Bottom Line: Do your research on what you want the vehicle to do before you purchase. Jeep people understand its small issues and they learn to love them.
Review: I bought this Jeep used and have had good luck with it. Snow is never an issue or for that matter, most obstacles are not an issue. I had it on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes here in Michigan and got up most hills without result (could use a bit more power...

the GREAT jeep

by   JuiceJW ,  Dec 8, 1999
Pros: Its a Jeep, and we do love our Jeeps
Cons: Back seat kinda small, Trunk virtually non-existant
Review: Albeit I am 18 years old.

Yes I have only been driving for two years.

Yes I have only owned one car.

But darn it if I dont love my jeep more than any other possession on this planet. Jeep's are funny, everyone I know who...

You don't know what your missing!

by   tdreck ,  Jan 16, 2005
Pros: Blast to drive, strong, durable, and lot's of after market goodies!
Cons: Gas mileage, no real security with a soft top.
The Bottom Line: If you've never spent much time in one before, talk to other owners about any draw backs they've experienced.
Review: I bought my Jeep last year, it is my second one I have owned, first was an 89 YJ. Jeep really did their homework on the new TJ's. Better redesigned instrument cluster, coil springs give it such a better ride than the old leaf springs, the top drops in ...

A very capable and enjoyable vehicle

by   wclark1974 ,  May 2, 2002
Pros: It's a Jeep! This vehicle is way too fun. I love everything about it.
Cons: bouncy ride, lots of road noise, poor mileage...but I still love this Jeep!!
The Bottom Line: Perfected over 60 years, full of fun, unlimited accessories, easy to repair, drives over anything, great looks. What more can I say? I love my Jeep!
Review: First of all, this ain't no car. If you want a smooth ride, great fuel efficiency and zero road noise...save yourself the trouble and buy a car. The '97 Jeep Wrangler has many significant improvements over previous model years, but it is not a car. ...

Wrangler Reliable?

by   sneako ,  Mar 15, 2000
Pros: Great Quality!
Cons: none
Review: Reliable? HA what a stupid question...I own a Jeep Wrangler 97' it is the best SUV I haver EVER seen. I give it 10+ stars! (out of 10). I was in 2 spin outs on snow. I hit the curb sideways and bounced over it, both going over 25. Not a single dent...
