Great bass, awesome

For the price these are great. They used to be $300 Canadian and I once saw them online with a list price of $259.99 US. But I got them at Future Shop for only $179.99. They're my first real decent speakers. I have them hooked up to an old Kenwood 110 watt amp, and my Sony playstation so I can feel the game vibrating through the floor. They have heavy bass. They're great for a regular sized room. They're very loud. The only problem is they make stuff fall off my sisters shelf on her wall next to my room. It's nice to not have to listen to playstation games through the crappy mono speaker on my 23 year old panasonic tv. With these speakers when I play gran turismo if i turn the volume up a lot I can feel the engine revving up.

For an audiophile these speakers would be good as a second pair in a room, or maybe as the rear speakers in a dolby 5.1 surround setup. They'd make the movies really come alive. I'm not an audiophile so I haven't compared these to really expensive speakers except my dads Infinity's but the bass seems heavier than the infinity's but they aren't as loud and don't have as good highs. Ohter peoples reviews seem to say the same thing.
