I Love the Ionic Pro!

The Ionic Pro is an air purifier that traps allergens, dust, and other impurities in the air and releases ionized air. This product is comparable to the much more expensive Sharper Image model.

I have a friend who smokes and who uses the Ionic Pro in several rooms of her house, and was impressed that there was no smell of smoke in her house. We have five dogs, two of which are Huskies and shed profusely, so our house is a great testing ground! We bought our unit at K-Mart and use it in the master bedroom. It is silent, easy to operate and easy to clean. There are no filters to replace. It needs to be cleaned about once a week by removing the metal blades which hold the dirt; these can be cleaned with a damp cloth and must be allowed to dry thoroughly before putting back into the machine. If you only use a damp cloth it will be ready to put back in a few hours--if you rinse it under running water it should be left out overnight. The company suggests purchasing a second set of blades so that you always have a clean, dry spare to put in.

I have seen a lot of complaints about the blue "on" light and about the smell of ozone that is released into the air. I'd just like to say that the blue light does not bother either my husband or myself at all...I rather like it as it's the equivalent of having a night light if you need to get up in the middle of the night. Also, the only smell I notice is the smell of clean air...it's a "clean laundry" type of smell that is very pleasant. The first time I cleaned it, I left it out of service overnight, and the next morning, for the first time since we've used it, woke up with a stuffy head...proof positive to me that it is working. I really have no negative comments at this point...it is quiet, easy to operate and to clean, and it works. What more could one want? I'm eventually planning to buy one for each of my kid's rooms.
