Great KVM switch by IOGear for controlling two systems... |
|||
|
Pros: Cheap alternative to purchasing an additional keyboard, mouse and monitor.
Cons: Maybe a wireless switch in the future?
The Bottom Line: If you need to control two computer systems but don't need a separate keyboard, monitor, and mouse, this is a great item!
Review: I am writing this review to enlighten folks to the uses of a KVM. I have personally purchased two of these, one for a customer and one for myself. In both cases they are extremely easy to setup and use, and it may save you a boatload of money if you ...

Pros: It works! LED on unit shows which machine is active.
Cons: 1920x1440 max resolution. If you need more, you can afford better.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this for anyone who is sick of controlling two computers with two keyboards, two mice, and a monitor capable of two machines.
Review: I use two IBM Intellistation Z Pro workstations running Unigraphics NX2. I had a very difficult time adjusting from one workstation to the other because my cubicle environment has a very low keyboard tray in the corner. I am more comfortable using the ...

Pros: price, cables are included, warranty, no software required
Cons: location of jacks on the switch, phase shift on flat panel monitor
The Bottom Line: EASY hook up (10 minutes?), simple to switch between computers, cables are INCLUDED. It's a complete device that should be considered if a KVM switch is needed.
Review: Background
I have a mid tower desktop computer with a Memorex MX5050 (cheap) 107 key PS/2 keyboard and a Microsoft Optical Wheel USB mouse (with a PS/2 adapter) that plug into a Gigabyte motherboard. The graphics card is an AGP ATI... |

Pros: Inexpensive. And easy to setup.
Cons: Excessive cable length.
The Bottom Line: This product is easy to use even for a novice user.
Review: I bought this device for the reason most people would. This would be to conserve space. I just bought a new Dell server to replace my old Dell server, and at the time I did not want to get rid of the old one right away. But also did not want to have ...

Pros: VERY easy to install and use, not expensive.
Cons: Cables are stiff; IOGear website not too helpful.
The Bottom Line: If you want to consolidate monitors keyboards and mice, buy a GCS62.
Review: I often have three computers running in my home workspace. One is a laptop with no docking station and thus requires some desk real estate. The others are a win2k tower and linux tower. My wife decided for me that I needed to unclutter the desk, so a trip ...

Pros: 2 PC's one monitor, Saves power, fixes problems with PC Clutter, affordable, easy to operate.
Cons: Limited resolution.
The Bottom Line: Get 2 computers on 1 monitor, keyboard, mouse its a great solution for small space for PC's.
Review: I am a nerd. There is no way around that, but with energy bills here in California being what they are, and during the summer months with increased heat, having 2 monitors does not help, and having 2 computers on 1 desk, is a hard squeeze as well.

Pros: Sleak and colored well; Easy usage with keyboard; Supports dongles.
Cons: Auto-mode is near useless; DVI-->Analog connections don't work.
The Bottom Line: It doesn't get any easier when it comes to KVMs. The complicated and pricey KVMs of the past have just been destroyed by IOGear.
Review: There's so many KVMs to choose from that your head can start spinning at all of the options. USB, 4 ports, Firewire, DVI, etc. I don't need much of it, just a simple KVM with 2 cables for my casual dual PC needs. I knew IOGear was a reputable company, ...

Pros: Excellent picture, Low price, Small size, Easy set up, 3 year warranty, Keyboard Powered
Cons: Cables are not detachable. Monitor cables appear to be of low quality.
The Bottom Line: For most users, this is the perfect KVM and can be had for under $40.
Review: Don't be misled by it's small size. This great little KVM encased in a rugged plastic housing, it has a 3 year warranty, and the video output is better than I expected. Ok, so it's a KVM. You want it to perform one basic function. That function is, to ...

Pros: Auto switching, no external power source, small box, 6' leads
Cons: none, this thing is perfection!
Review: If you have 2 pcs and want to use one monitor, one keyboard & one mouse, this is for you. It has a little auto-switching box with 6' (each set) monitor/mouse/keyboard leads attached. Just plug your stuff in and use it. No external power source needed ( ...
