Author's Review
I purchased this to replace the builder-grade GE dishwasher in my 3 yr old home, one that sounded more like a garberator than a dishwasher.
It installs fairly easily, provided you have some decent home-handyman skills. Build quality appears to be quite good, compared with my original unit. Price is about what you'd expect for a decent appliance, about 1K+. You get what you pay for.
Observations after about a year of operation:
The spacing and arrangement of the tupper rack ines is a bit irritating, making it tricky to load glasses neatly. This is minor nuisance issue only. The lower rack arrangement is fine, except the basket is a bit too shallow. Utensils sometimes tip over when sliding the lower rack in / out.
Operation is easy. I especially enjoy the placement of the controls on the upper edge of the door, positioned so they are invisible with the door closed.
Sound level is impressive, barely audible during operation. The exception is when the pump is discharging water to the sink. The red LED pointing down to the floor to indicate dishwasher is running is a nice touch.
The washer does run for a fairly long time, 90 min +++. This is a non-issue to me. There is are multiple beeps that happen when the washer is ready to unload. I wish they built in the option of turning this feature off, as once in a while we run this just before heading to bed...the beeping wakes me up sometimes.
Cleaning quality is very good, provided you don't overload. No prerinsing is needed.
One nuisance issue after a year of running this is the appearnce of a lousy odour that we haven't been able to solve. It's really bad when the washer is partially full. When the washer is empty, the smell persists, but not as badly. This started happening after 6 months of using this, so I'm not sure the odor can be attributed to the soiled dishes between washings. There is a small amount of water that remains behind at the bottom of the drain filter, so perhaps I don't have the discharge tubing set up right. Thus I can't say if the smell pertains to design flaws or my installation. It's something to keep in mind though when considering this washer.
