Review: I currently own a desktop but wanted a second computer that I could take with me to school. I purchased the Dell Inspiron 6000 and absolutely love it. I use it mainly for school work, multitasking, internet, multimedia, and gaming, and it excels at...

A Horse that works like a Donkey

Date of Review:  Mar 14, 2006
The Bottom Line: Best suited for Home use, pretty heavy to be a business Laptop. Lookout for the new Dual-Core Processors if you are planning to buy one.
Review: Have used the Dell 6000 for 9 months now, it is a very good laptop. I like the choice of screens offered by Dell, WSGA, WSXGA etc. The screen is very good, the text is very clear the graphics are amazing. The widescreen is really cool, gives you...

There are better laptops for less

Date of Review:  Jan 7, 2006
The Bottom Line: Look elsewhere.
Review: First off, all laptops and PC have similar guts. That is, manufacturers buy components from a factory and bundle particular units and software packages, slap their name on it and viola, you just paid x for an x that is really a y. So the question...

Good Value Laptop

Date of Review:  Jul 31, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you get a chance to get one of their $$$ off deals this laptop is a great bargain.
Review: I actually got the Celeron M version of this laptop and have been very happy with it. I got one of the "$750 off" deals if $1,500 or more was spent. I went a little over that, upgraded to XP Pro, put in Bluetooth and Office XP. I upgraded the RAM...

Inspiron 6000 - solid performer at a good price!

Date of Review:  Jan 9, 2006
The Bottom Line: The Inspiron 6000 offers great value and performance for the money.
Review: Several months back a very bad man absconded with my Dell Insprion XPS. I was sad to see it go in that manner, but in a way it was for the best. While I liked the performance, the battery life was way too short and the laptop itself was way too...

Love it, and the Dell Service, too.

Date of Review:  Apr 5, 2008
The Bottom Line: Great screen, good keyboard means no need for external keyboard, a bit heavy.
Review: I bought the Dell Inspiron 6000 model, after a miserable experience with Toshiba, 3 years ago and have loved it from the beginning. The larger screeen enables me to more easily have several windows open at one time. This was my first XP computer and...

What's not to like? Inexpensive, great features, solidly built

Date of Review:  Dec 11, 2005
The Bottom Line: Great laptop for anyone who wants a better than entry-level widescreen, but it takes some patience and configuration tweaking when ordering to get the best bang for your buck.
Review: I had been eyeing Dell's widescreen Inspiron laptops for 8 or 9 months - the then-new 700m, and the 6000 - watching deals pass me by (gotapex.com - rocks!) but still not in a hurry to splurge as my work laptop suited me fine. Well, I changed jobs...

Excellent Desktop Replacement

Date of Review:  Apr 13, 2006
Review: I needed a large screen with power that I could fit in a bag. I shopped around for a while, and after owning a dell inspiron 8400 3 years ago, i chose Dell again. the 1920x1200 screen is the best friend for a graphic designer. Match that with 128...
