Not as effective as advertised...

I owned this product for just a week and it was enough for me to understand how useless it is. I let it run on the 3rd speed for 24 hours a day for about 5 days. Every morning when the sun shines through the window I would visually check the amount of particles flowing in the air. It is very easy. And I advise every air cleaner owner to do so. You will see that there is almost no difference with or without the air filtration unit (at least this is true for IQAir products). In my opinion the biggest problem of this product and most air filtration products is that they do not create enough airflow in the room. Again I advise you to look against the sun rays falling through the window and place the unit close to the window. Observe that there is no change at all in the amount of particles moving around the unit no matter how long you run it for an hour or all day. It is due to the fact that the suction power of the unit is very weak. The advertised number of air changes within an hour is misleading. Imagine how clean the air would have been if it had been changed 4 times per hour. I do not doubt their filters. The filters maybe efficient as far as particle retention, but there is not enough air traveling through them. It can be compared to a vacuum cleaner where you would let it suck the air instead of the carpet. It can get the air inside only from a close distance while leaving the rest of the air practically intact. The same way IQAir HealthPro may be running the same amount of air through as 4 times the volume of the room but it mostly will use the same air over and over that is relatively close to the unit.

The bottom line is IQAir HealPro products have very poor airflow characteristics.

I returned this product without any problems however do not forget the shipping costs. You will have to bear them or inefficient product including maintenance cost and the product itself is not the most energy efficient.

By the way I forgot to mention that it is very loud, even on speed 3. If you have a quiet environment then I can bet it wouldn't fit in it...

P.S. It looks like most of the reviews that I went through are either fake or submitted by the IQAir distributors. Do not fall in their trap.
