jury is still out, kind of

I purchased the IQ Air plus, fully loaded with all the filter elements, including the V5 odor and gas. I've had this unit just under 2 years, and have also gone thru 4 sets of pre filter, 3 sets of V5, and one HEPA filter. The cost of course is high, but I'm willing to pay just to ease my allergies. I can't say that I'm 100% convinced that it works all that well. I do know that it works better than a Honeywell HEPA. I lived in Houston when I purchased this unit, and when it didn't make much difference with my breathing after a few months, I decided to call IQ Air directly. I called primarily to make sure that I'm operating this thing correctly, and that I didn't miss anything. I of course had high expectations for spending almost $1000, with the extra filters. They weren't much help, other than insisting that it should have helped. They said that they will check into it, then call me back, but never did, nor did I sense any sincere concern. I'm still using the unit, and am still changing the filters, for a lack of a better solutions. This unit is placed in the master bedroom, and is run 24/7 non-stop. I've even had a guy selling this come out with a particulate meter to measure the output of the unit, and did show no particles. I also run the highest efficiency 3m return air filter in the house, but all this does not seem to help very much. I'm left only scratching my head, wondering what is going on. My final thought really has to do with whether any of these types of filter solution can really address the allergy issues and home air cleaning sufficiently to be effective enough to make a real world difference. I'm not unwilling to spend money, just have not yet found a solution that actually works real time.
