Pretty Slick

Date of Review:  Jul 10, 2006
The Bottom Line: A stylish bargain with very few rough edges.
Review: It looks like a $18,000 car and feels like a $16,000 car, but costs about $12,000.

Bad:
Small children could probably tear the volume knob off the stereo easily, it feels cheap. The center armrest storage space is about one inch deep...

The 2003 Elantra GT sports sedan: "Well-balanced"

Date of Review:  Jun 17, 2004
The Bottom Line: No car, even at MSRP, comes fully-equipped like the Elantra GT. Mated to a 5-speed, it accelerates, corners, and stops like a true sports sedan. An exceptional value.
Review: I was looking for a small sports sedan under $20,000 that would be fun to drive, well-equipped, economical and feature an ample backseat for grandchildren and others. Before buying my Elantra GT sedan, I test-drove at least a dozen other cars in...

You people are delusional. This thing is a turd.

Date of Review:  Jun 16, 2004
The Bottom Line: I don't know what's wrong with the other reviewers. This thing is a turd. I feel stupid for buying it. Expect to be laughed at.
Review: I want to like the car. The engine makes adequate power. The interior has proven useful and durable. Great warranty (when you can get the dealer to honor it) which will come in very handy (not a good thing).

The handling is quirky but...

2003 Hyundai Elantra GT

Date of Review:  Dec 18, 2006
Review: Warning: I have had so many problems with this car. I am currently on my 4th set of tires within 3 years. My emergency brake locks up in cold winter (have been towed 2 times in December 2006). Dealership mechanics cannot guarantee that their...

Cross Country Family Trip in Elantra GT

Date of Review:  Nov 19, 2003
The Bottom Line: Great looks, great handling, lots of features, best warranty
Review: I was apprehensive about traveling cross country from Phoenix to Corpus Christi in a 2003 Elantra GT with my wife and two daughters. Two days there, two days back. I had a lot of time/miles to get to know my Elantra GT intimately.

Each day...

Don't overlook Hyundai

Date of Review:  May 30, 2003
The Bottom Line: The Hyundai Elantra has lots of options, plenty of room, and looks and rides good, all for a great low price.
Review: I was in the market for a car recently since my poor 1988 Oldsmobile seemed to be on it's last leg. I'm not particularly knowledgeable when it comes to cars, but I knew what I wanted - a car that was good looking, dependable, and on the relatively...

You're going where? !!UPDATED!!

Date of Review:  Jan 16, 2003
The Bottom Line: If you can't afford something else, get it. If you can, do it.
Review: The newest issue with the Elantra is a serious wiring problem on the front driver's side of the car. To date, the car has been in the shop for six weeks. Not only have parts been back ordered, but the kicker was the dealership placing the wrong...

Hyundai?s 2003 Elantra GT - The Cure for Bland Sedan Syndrome

Date of Review:  Jun 12, 2003
The Bottom Line: A great car for those who want a sporty ride, but don?t want to shell out for the usual suspects.
Review: I guess I just attract bad drivers.

After all, it was about this same time two years ago that I was sideswiped by a drunk driver on a road trip in Arkansas. I suppose I should have been anticipating that car parked on the highway shoulder...
