You people are delusional. This thing is a turd.

Date of Review: Jun 16, 2004

The Bottom Line:  I don't know what's wrong with the other reviewers. This thing is a turd. I feel stupid for buying it. Expect to be laughed at.
I want to like the car. The engine makes adequate power. The interior has proven useful and durable. Great warranty (when you can get the dealer to honor it) which will come in very handy (not a good thing).

The handling is quirky but barely adequate. Wind from trucks batters the thing around like a sailboat in a squall. It follows tracks and ruts pretty badly. The rear suspension is extremely cheesy (plastic swaybar links!!).

The clutch is weak and touchy. It only gets worse with age. It seemed okay when the car was new, but now it is really annoying.

Now the fun stuff.

At 4,000 miles the clutch started acting strangely and making weird clacking noises. Took the dealer three attempts to fix it. New flywheel, New Clutch, New transmission, New engine etc. etc.

At 51,000 miles the rear end is shredding tires. It looks like I'll be putting new tires on it every 10,000 miles or less. I've had it aligned three times now. Once very recently. The dealer basically told me to go to hell. Hyundai said more or less the same thing.

The car changes with age (Beware!!!!).

I am a certified car nut. I've owned Volvo/Ford/Jeep/Honda/Subaru. I currently own 6 cars. I feel like such a dumbass for buying this thing. I've had friends and family laugh at me. I wish I'd bought a Honda/Toyota.
