Elantra: Efficient, Edifying, and Evolved!

by   chitraveler ,  May 16, 2008
Pros: Simple, clean, and attractive exterior, coupled with nicely appointed interior features.
Cons: Cord attached to gas cap is too short - that's it!
The Bottom Line: This is a very good car, featuring nicely equipped trims for a great price. The Elantra is an outstanding value. In fact, it feels more refined than one would expect.
Review: I purchased a 2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS automatic in the middle of April. Since then, I have been very pleased with this product. Prior to the Elantra, I owned a 2002 Sonata GLS, which was a very nice car that I was quite happy with. Though I ...

Good value for the money

by   netbob30 ,  Jul 20, 2008
Pros: Seem to have gotten everything right.
Cons: Don't put the key fob in your back pocket and sit on it. Trunk opens.
The Bottom Line: This is about the most you are going to get for your money.
Review: Update:We have now driven some 8,000 miles. No complaints. One note however. At speeds above 60 mph in intermittent crosswinds the handling is a bit "dodgy". Nothing bordering on dangerous, but you will notice a bit of a dip and swerve if you ...

Pros: Value, Quality, Features, Comfort, Space, Warranty.
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: Do yourself a big favor. Overcome your bias about the Hyundai name and give this car a look. This car is a tremendous bargain.
Review: When shopping for an automobile most people overlook a brand like Hyundai due to the reputation of earlier models as being poorly designed, prone to mechanical problems, and having poor resale value. However, there is much information available which ...

by   lcase ,  Mar 15, 2009
Pros: good looking, good gas mileage, handles well , easy to park
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: The Elantra is the perfect car for two people and it is big enough for a family.  The gas mileage is excellent.  I would recommend this car to anyone.
Review: My new Hyundai Elantra is a fantastic car!  We bought is solely for the gas mileage, which is 37 mpg around town and 40 mpg on a trip.  When we bought it, gas was $3.00 or more per gallon and we needed an economy car, so we traded in our ...

Great bang for the buck

by   xo1rider ,  Dec 3, 2007
Pros: XM factory radio, fuel economy, warranty and interior room.
Cons: Not exactly a sports car on twisty roads.
Review: Could not be happier with my 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE. I was convinced a new Honda Civic was in my future until I started to read consumer reviews on the Hyundai and check the warranties on both cars. Had I taken the Civic equipped the way my Hyundai ...

Elantra: A Comfortable, High-Quality Transportation Appliance.

by   drive571 , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Sep 3, 2008
Pros: Hushed cabin, gentle ride, comfortable interior, thoughtful convenience features, low price.
Cons: Bland to occupy, not at all sporty to drive. Pinched trunk pass-through.
The Bottom Line: Seemingly channeling Toyota's Corolla, the Elantra has matured into a somber, sophisticated small-car bargain. If the Mazda 3's overt sportiness doesn't push your buttons, put this one on your list.
Review: BackgroundHy undai gained a foothold in the U.S. market with bargain-bin pricing, and for two decades, no evaluation of a Hyundai has been complete without taking "the deal" into account. But with each successive generation of product, ...

Love my car!

by   mandabear ,  Jun 20, 2008
Pros: Gas mileage, trunk space
Cons: A little small if you've got more than two adults and two children.
Review: We bought our Elantra last August and we've been in love with it ever since. It gets AWESOME gas mileage... and so far, we've had absolutely no mechanical problems. There is adequate trunk space, which is often lacking in smaller cars. I love the fact ...

Worth a look if you want creature comforts for a bargain

by   jessvi812 ,  Nov 16, 2008
Pros: Nice interior, great creature comforts for an affordable price, quiet cabin.
Cons: Brakes so responsive the car feels jerky, child seat anchors not available.
Review: After test-driving the 2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS, Hyundai deserves far more credit than it currently receives. The cabin is roomy enough for passengers, including an infant carseat, the features are newer, the interior seems much more sturdy, the ride is ...
