Hunting Illustrated- The best western hunting magazine out there

Hunting Illustrated has many great things about it. One of the first great things you notice is the front cover. In a nutshell you see almost everything in the magazine, just by looking at the cover. On the front it has pictures of what the stories are about. You actually get the opportunity you to see the pictures, and to read the story that the hunter wrote himself. Inside the magazine it has many different sections. One of my favorites is the mule deer report. In the mule deer report it tells the reader about the drought situations and how the deer are doing in the west.

When you first open the magazine after the summery it has the section called ask Mr. Mule deer. I like this part because you learn new things every time you read it. On their web page is where people write in there hunting questions. Then in the next issue the experts at Kings Outdoor world answer the question. The following sections are called north of the border and south of the border. They talk about the hunting in Canada and Mexico; they usually have a successful hunting trip presented in the section.

The majority of the magazine is what everyone loves, and that is the successful hunting stories. These are located in the middle of the magazine. Near the end of the magazine they have a section on equipment. This usually consists of the newest atv or quad designed for the rugged mountains of the west. They review the product and put it to the test. The last section of the magazine is called "The Nuge factor." Everyone knows the famous rocker Ted Nugent, he is a nutty guy in my opinion but he writes a good article in every subscription.

The Hunting Illustrated magazine is great for hunter insights and tips. It lets you know what is going on and what the real story is. The stories are great because you hear it strait form the person who lived the moment. People often have a hard time trying to find out where to hunt and also what tags to put in for in each state. It gives you stats on the different units and how long you must wait until you can receive a tag. In the magazine it tells you how much a certain over the counter tag costs in each state. This actually helped me personally decide to go on my own hunt to Idaho. I was seventeen years old when I read that at that age Idaho is almost free to hunt in as long as you're with an adult that has a tag. Forty five dollars later I had an elk, deer and a bear tag. I took advantage of this and was on my way to Idaho to meet my uncle. It turned out to be one of the best hunts of my life and I still haven't killed a buck bigger than the one I killed in Idaho that year.
