Nice fan if you do not require a lot of light

I installed this fan last week and so far I am happy with it. I choose this fan because I thought it had a unique appearance from most of the fans I see in the stores. So many of them look alike. I get a lot of compliments on it when I have guests over to the house.

This fan is quiet and puts out quite a bit of air. It is very attractive and makes a great focal point in my traditional family room. I had an electrician install Lutron dimmers on the wall for the light and for the fan which I highly recommend. I'm not a fan of pull chains. Not for their functionality or their appearance.

The one drawback which may or may not make a difference to you is that it does not put out much light. It's more like just a glow because the art glass is solid and thick. It does not allow light to penetrate through it. Also because the glass is gold in color the light is very yellow which I don't find very pleasing. It is most unpleasing when it is set at it's brightest. It's OK when set dim. In a dark room there is certainly not enough light for reading, you will need another source. All-in-all, I am happy with it since I have other lighting options in the room.

I ordered this fan on-line because I could not find it locally in the common big box stores. The good thing about that is it is less likely to end up in your neighbors house too. I like to be different.
