Great Album
Date of Review: Dec 16, 2000
I usually dont really care a whole lot for movie soundtracks. One thing, I dont like is when there's 2 albums: one containing the pop tunes related to the movie and the other with the original orchestra sountrack; ya gotta buy 2 different cds to get it all.
This is not so with the Grinch movie CD, this is was done RIGHT.
The first half of the cd you get the pop tunes, including Jim Carrey and Busta Rhymes-im no rap fan so it's annoying but amusing to me. You also get MOVIE DIALOG!! Classic scenes with the Grinch like Max being coached by the Grinch on being a reindeer or him reading off his schedule, funny stuff. Faith Hill's "Where are you Christmas" is nice too, the video is neat too. The best tune on there im my opinion is "Lonely Christmas Eve" which is totally the Grinch's tune; the need to make a video for it. And yes, "Christmas is going to the dogs" is on the CD!!
Then the 2nd half you get the Original Orchestration, which is what Im listening to as type this. Also, down the line on this half, you get the whole xmas stealing dialog which is neat cause you can imaigne the scene in your head.
If you liked the movie you'll like the CD. Get it!
