Vacuuming Turbocharged
Date of Review: Oct 25, 2003
The Bottom Line: The design and power on this vacuum are excellent. It's expensive but worth it if you want a powerful cleaning device.
This Hoover S3765 is a terrific vacuum with truly awesome suction. I owned an Oreck before this one and the Oreck cost about the same but was not even close to the performance of the Hoover.
When cleaning hardwood floors the suction seems fine and adequate but where this vacuum really shines is on carpets. There are 3 levels of power that are graphically displayed on the vacuum. On carpet I put it on level 1 which was more than enough suction for most cleaning. When I switched it to level 3 it seemed like the vaccum was ready to take-off for flight it was that powerful.
Setting up the vacuum is very easy and I only glanced at the instructions as it is highly intuitive. Everything clicks into place so you no when it is assembled correctly. ( Before this vacuum I had a Dyson which was complex, non-intuitive, and difficult to assemble).
In 10 minutes I was up and running with the Hoover.
The handtool powerbrush that came with the vacuum was very powerful and perfect for cleaning couches, crevices and hard to reach places. This is one of the first canister vacuums with a bagless design and it works great, Emptying the container is simple and quick. Just press the button and release.
The only slight downside of the vacuum is it is a little heavy to move and that for the $500 list price, some of the materials like the wheels could be made of a more durable material.
