unreliable and not durable

This was my first steam vac...I thought it was a great improvement on the old tank and wand...cleaners. That old machine was like 30 years old before it went capute. This Hoover machine barely lasted a year before it started to leak. And leaked for years. I took it for repairs which was expensive as it cost 45.00 just for them to look at it plus parts. after repair it soon began to leak again. I had to soon replace it. I thought after several years Hoover would fine tune their product and make it last...I was sadly wrong. My replacement machine a Hoover F5899-100 is much worse as it is also leaking. And to avoid a repair visit i looked at it closely and found the hose had torn at the base inside the machine. Clearly not anything that I have done. Why can't hoover make a reliable machine that gets the job done? I do not recommend these machines to people if they want a machine that will do the job and have and investment to last for years. It just won't last much past a year. This is what the Hoover Service center told me.
