Author's Review
The winter dry air and heat are bad on my allergies and skin, so I decided to try a humidifier. My bedroom is large, so I knew I needed one that would be big enough to handle that. I can tell a very noticeable difference in the air quality in my bedroom, and it makes it a lot easier to breath.
I have to fill up the water canister at least every other day, but I have usually been running it on a high setting. The container is too large to fit under my bathroom sink so I have to use the bathtub to fill it up--which is not a big deal for me, but just a warning. There is a handle on each side of the water canister which makes it easy to carry and put back on even if it does get a little heavy.
On the highest setting, you can definitely hear it running, but even then it is white noise and only sounds like you have a fan on. All of the lower settings are practically silent. It also makes the room noticeably cooler--not dramatic, but slightly.
My cat also had been having the sniffles, and she loves the humidifier. It seems to help her breathing, and she likes to watch the water bubble. I keep it laying on the floor and she doesn't try to mess with it. It is sturdy enough that I don't think she could knock anything over if she tried.
I have never let it run out of water, so I don't know if it does actually shut off automatically. However, I know that it does quit if the desired humidity is reached, and it is easy to tell by a blue light.
Overall, I think this was a wise purchase. It is worth the price, and does not look or perform cheap. I turn it on from the time I walk into my bedroom, and keep it on until I walk out. Just a note--the picture makes it look a little pink, but it is white and blue.
