Author's Review
I bought this unit back in October, as it was starting to get cold here in Wisconsin, and the "back" of the house, where the bedrooms are, does not get nearly as warm as the rest of the house does. Not wanting to crank the thermostat and overheat the rest of the house, I brought the radiator home and plugged it in. WOW!!! The default setting, which is high power and continuous run, had the room heated up in less than 10 minutes. It was even too warm, so I usually just use it on low power (since this is the energy efficient setting). I like the digital thermostat, although it does take some getting used to. My guess is that because the sensor is literally right where all of the heat radiates from, the temperature reading is a bit higher than the actual room temperature. Also, the timed shut-off feature is nice, so we can all go to bed, and the unit will shut off once we are warm and settled in. It cannot be programmed to turn on automatically, though. Still, it is an awesome unit, and was well worth the $54 I paid on sale. I will probably get another one for the basement level, so we can close the air vents down there and still be warm!
