Author's Review
I bought my 2004 Honda Accord 4dr Sedan last year (new). My specs are V6 -auto trans, Leather, Navigation System and XM Radio. I was trading in a 1997 Honda Civic EX. I was considering others like the BMW 325, or perhaps a Nissan Maxima.
This top of line Accord is such a hidden gem. Some might think that the outside of the 4 door Accord isn't much to look at but who really drives from the outside. Sit inside this all leather Navigation version and you will fall in love. The seats are large and comfortable. The power is there. Need to cut out in traffic? You can do it with this one. If you're into the bells and whistles like I am...the Navigation system is first rate. I can drive anywhere without feeling like I am lost. Make a wrong turn, it recalculates the trip. Did I mention Voice activation? It gives you all the directions in a man or woman's voice...your choice...and you can give commands back. Too hot, just say "temperature....68 degrees and it makes the change for you." No need to look down at all the controls.
I never thought I would be interested in XM Sat Radio but after trying it for free for 3 months....I can't live without it now....I can listen to Orlando weather from Massachusetts snowing days and feel a little warmer on my way to work.
As for reliability, this car has it. My Civic was flawless for 7 years...Actually found it hard to justify the trade other than....I WANT IT.
I highly recommend this Car. All the features of the higher priced cars for less money and actually more cabin room.
Update: 08/19/2005, I wanted to add some information about the actual driving experience and handling. Going from a Civic to an Accord, the biggest difference is the heaviness of the car. Although the Civic was great, the Accord provides a much heavier and smoother ride. Driving on the highway in strong winds, the car holds it's own. Handling around corners, the car hugs the turn quite well. Living in the Northeast, we are exposed to heavy snow and ice. The Accord is front wheel drive and has a traction control type device that when needed on snowy roads, activates itself to assist. Don't mistake it for 4wheel drive but it is a nice added feature. And with those snowy roads, it's nice to sit back in the heated leather seats.
