Noisy

I have only had the Holmes HM5250-UC humidifier for a few nights now, but I am already thinking about returning it. There are a few features that I do like. The first one being that there is no filter to clean or replace which is the main reason I purchased this model. The other is that it was also nicely priced. If you are looking for a warm mist humidifier that is easy to use and you don't care about extra features of higher priced models this could be the humidifier for you. But I can't get over how noisy this humidifier is. Even my husband who can sleep through a lot can't stand it, he thinks it sounds like popcorn popping. It wouldn't be so bad if the noise was constant like a fan, but it's more like a popping, bubbling noise. It also doesn't have a thermostat to turn it off when it reaches a desired humidity level, so it runs all night or until it runs out of water. So if you just need a basic humidifier that is not quiet and doesn't have any bells and whistles then buy it. I guess you get what you pay for.
