Holmes Products HM5305-UC 3 Gallon Humidifier

I bought this humidifier because it doesn't use filters. For the first few months it worked fine, but it has a couple of MAJOR problems we discovered later: We put it on our wood dresser and noticed, after a few months, when we moved it to clean it one day, that a large crack in the wood on the top of the dresser had developed underneath it. This was caused by the extreme heat that comes out of the bottom of the unit. We have since put it on a hot plate and it has seemed to be fine. The second problem, also caused by the extreme heat, is that the water bottle has melted, causing the cap to no longer fit properly and making the unit completely unusable after less than a year. Don't buy one. Spend your money on something else.
