Noble Idea - Poor Execution

Date of Review: Jun 12, 2008

At first this fan looks like a great idea, and when brand new it pretty much does what it claims. However, the control board draws so much phantom power that even when off, the area of the controls is nearly hot to the touch. After a while, the cheap membrane switch behind the button melted and left the fan switch in a permanently "depressed" state. The control board is programmed to turn the fan off if "held" for 2 seconds. So now after less than a season we have another useless piece of junk as the fan won't stay on anymore. This one is headed for the dumpster, I suggest you avoid this model.

Pros
Cheap, initially functions as advertised
Cons
Draws way too much phantom power, overheats, self-destructs.
