Click for the Full In-depth review! I didn’t really want to buy a humidifier, but when my child got sick and the doctor said one may help it was no question. It was time to pick one up. So I went to the store with a humidifier on my mind. I saw many different humidifiers from many different companies, but I am glad I choose this one. If I was going to get one I knew I wanted to pay the cash and get one that would work and work well, with no problems. This one solves my problems and has enough power to humidify the entire apartment, which is a big relief. All of us will benefit from this new purchase and not just our child.

The humidifier base is pretty self explanatory. It is where the humidifier sets rests on top of. This also holds ½ gallon of water from the tanks at a time to humidify your air. It is really stable and seems to be made with durability quality and a nice design in mind. Of course the power cord is attached to the back of the humidifier base.

Humidifier with filter included this is also fairly self explanatory. This is the center piece on the base. It is also very nice that it has a filter already included in the humidifier. This makes it very nice for first time users, as it will help out with the initial setup of the humidifier.

2 Refillable water tanks well they have a nice snug fit in the base and against the humidifier center piece. These tanks also feel like they were made with quality in mind. They have a twist off cap on the bottom. They slide nicely into the base with a perfect fit.

Extra Filter it is very nice that they included this. The filter is monitored with a gauge on the top of the humidifier itself, this way you know when the extra filter will come in handy and when to purchase more. It really is a great feature and nice freebie.

Wheels they would include this for portability reasons. However, I’ll make this short and sweet. Mine didn’t come with wheels, but I personally don’t need them. If you purchase this and it doesn’t come with the promised wheels, I would take it up with the company or the retailer you purchased the product from. For me, it doesn’t even weigh much when it’s completely full. So I don’t really need the wheels and it probably would have been more of a hassle getting them then they are worth. But, that’s just for me everyone is different and use your own judgment.

Assembly Required? Actually not really. The only thing you will need to assemble are the wheels if they came packaged in with the humidifier. Other then that you wheel it or pick it up and move it to the desired location. Then fill up the tanks bring them back put them into place then simply plug it in. Yes, that is all the assembly required, that is until you need to change the filter, but that is also a snap!

How much space does it take up? It doesn’t take up much space at all. We live in an apartment, and do not have a shortage of places we could place this humidifier. It fits perfectly along corners or even in a closet. What it really comes down to is it is small, and has a nice shape to it so it will fit in a lot of places using minimum space. Finding a sport for this even in a fairly crowded home or apartment will not be a problem.

Gages/displays and buttons
This is so simply to use and understand, it doesn’t have many buttons to confuse users. This humidifier is short and to the point.

It has the filter gage. This gage displays the current condition of your filter in use. The gage tracks it from Good, which is marked in the color blue, middle which is shown in a white and red stripped color scheme, and finally bad which is marked on red. That is when you know when to change your filter out.

Digital readout This will tell you the current humidity level of the room upon initial start. This will then monitor the humidity of the room throughout its use. This comes in very handy so you can get it to the humidity comfort you enjoy best.

Up/Down Arrow keys This will allow the user to set his or her own humidity preference. When using AccuSet mode this comes in very handy. You can select what percentage of humidity you want the room at.


Modes of Operation
This has pretty much two different modes you can use. Here is the breakdown:

Manual Mode
This mode is simply to operate and use. You simply plug in the humidifier; the humidifier will then display the current humidity level of the room you are in. You then proceed to hit the Mode/off button. This will cause the humidifier to start at level 3, which is the highest. If you press it again, it will then go down to level 2, again it goes to level 1 and one more time to turn it off. It is super simple to use and will run on manual mode until you turn it off.

AccuSet Is a quite a bit cooler to use then the manual mode and comes in more handy. During this mode you can set the humidity level. Lets say you want 60% humidity. All you have to do using the controls is under the AccuSet mode select 60%. This is when the magic happens. When room humidity reaches 60% the humidifier will shut off. Then when it falls under the 60% mark it will automatically kick back on. I have only had this product for a short time, but enjoy this mode.

How does it run
Well, for some people how load it is during mode of operation matters. I will tell you that I have this humidifier running in my childs room and it doesn’t wake her up at all. Not once has she waken up due to the humidifier. This is a smooth operation no doubt. If there is 2 things you will not have to worry about it’s the performance of this product and how this runs. It will run and believe me you will hardly notice it. But, you will notice the quality of the humidified air you will be able to breathe as a result!

Overall
I would highly recommend this product. It works fantastic for us. If you want quality and a humidifier you will not have to return or replace in a couple years. I don’t think you need to look any further then this Holmes Cool Mist Humidifier. This is an outstanding product and I can’t speak for other people, but I am more then happy with the purchase I made. This is a keeper and will not be returned or replaced anytime soon! If you are in the market for a replacement or just thinking about picking one up I would highly suggest this one!
