High performance but entry level model

Date of Review:  Jun 7, 2005
The Bottom Line: This camcorder is worth the $500. Image close to mini DV and superb sound. Good first cam for newbie with money or advanced users like me with limited cash.
Review: This camcorder was released in April 05. It is 5th generation by Hitachi who claims to have invented the dvd camcorder. The camera takes regular 3" one side dvd as well as dvd RAM. The dvd RAM cost me $17 at Fry's electronics and can be used over...

Hitachi DZ-MV730A

Date of Review:  Jun 18, 2007
Review: Please don't buy this camcorder. It has nothing but problems. I bought it because it would go directly into the DVD player and I thought Hitachi was a good company. It has a problem that Hitachi will not address about error messages and footage is...

Good, but not the best

Date of Review:  Jun 6, 2007
The Bottom Line: Good if you're not really concerned about connecting to a computer. I recommend the regular dvd-R discs, they are cheaper and will play in any dvd player.
Review: I have this camera. I like it, but there are some problems I've had. It can take dvd RAM discs, the 2-sided, re-usable discs, but I rarely use them. I've found that they don't play in any DVD player that I have, although they do play on my computer...

Worth the price... Must have DVD-RAM!

Date of Review:  Jan 1, 2006
Review: I got this camcorder for a very cheap price. I payed only $300 for it brand new, non refurb. It works great. You can use double-sided DVD-RAM discs that hold 30 minutes of video on each side. The double-sided DVD-RAM discs are kind of hard to take...

HITACHI DVD CAM

Date of Review:  Apr 26, 2006
The Bottom Line: Good for professionals who do not need professional picture or soung quality (trainers, real estate, investigators, etc.) Sugestion: add new category under "This camcorder is best for" space above.
Review: I use a Hitachi DVD Camera a lot, My model is DV MV 350E. I use it about 2 hours every week on average since mid 2004. Very reliable. Only problems: the LCD display image sometimes is unstable, loses colour for a few seconds, etc. I am told is a bad...
