Hitachi DVD Camcorder

I bought my Hitachi Camcorder when I found out I was pregnant because I wanted to capture all those special moments. I have been mostly happy with it to date and I have had it for about a year and a half.

What I like:
I like that it is compact and light weight. It is easy to throw into your purse on the way out the door.

It is very user friendly. I was able to bring it home charge the battery and start using it.

The screen can be turned and and locked into place to easily watch what you have recorded.

Good picture clarity. As long as you have good lighting the picture clarity is good.

Great sound clarity.The sound is great I could hear all of the beautiful little sounds my son was making even the softest sounds he made as a tiny baby.

What I do not like:
The battery does not last very long.I usually have to charge it at least once before I record an entire disc which is less than convenient.

Cheap Battery charger. The charger is cheap and if you do not have it sitting right the plug loses its connection and stops charging. Many of times I have plugged it in the night before I needed it and thought it would be fully charged in the morning but, it was not so I did not have it when I wanted it.

Finalization process a bit of a pain. To view your DVD in the DVD player you have to finalize your disc. In order to finalize to finalize your disc you have to unplug your battery and plug the finalization battery/cable in to your camera and then plug it into the wall. It seem as thought is could be simpler so you could do it with minimal switching things around. I would prefer to be able to do it without all the extra steps.
