Pros: Comfort; evenly distributes weight; one hand free; good looks
Cons: One-handedness; rubs against neck; tough to learn?; no knapsacks.
The Bottom Line: Might not be right for all families, but it works for me and I love it!

Review: NOTE: My review refers to the ORIGINAL Hip Hammock made by Nancie Swanke of Boise, Idaho. Playtex has since bought the U.S. rights to this carrier and I believe redesigned it in a few ways. Mine, however, is the original, made by Nancie herself in a...

Cons: Slightly restricted movement of your arm on the side you wear it.
The Bottom Line: I recommend the Hip Hammock to any active child care giver who needs to accomplish tasks other than sitting with the baby, but who also considers the baby's comfort important.

Review: I recently bought the Hip Hammock to replace a "sling" type carrier, and I and the baby love it. In the Hip Hammock, baby's legs ride on either side of my hip, which means they are not in my way as I walk, and the baby seems much more comfortable;...

Review: I purchased this for my 6 month old daughter, since she likes hanging on the side and I was uncomfortable in her bulky front carrier. I thought it would be a great idea...not so...It was fairly easy to set up and use, a tricky getting her in and...
